A Bit Colder Friday

A weak clipper system will swing a cold front through the region tonight. As a result, expect clouds to hang on tonight. However, we are not expecting any precipitation. Look for lows in the middle teens in the north and lower to middle 20s in our southern communities.

Sunshine returns Friday, but it will be colder with highs in the mid 20s to low 30s.

Looking Ahead… We’ll warm right back up for the weekend with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s. Saturday looks dry with mostly sunny skies. Clouds return Sunday. By Sunday night, an approaching cold front could produce some light snow late..

Low pressure and that strong cold front track across the region on Monday, bringing a decent chance for some snow. It’s too early to say how much snow could fall, but light accumulations look like a good bet at this time. Some areas could see a mix of rain and snow. Highs will be in the upper 20s in the morning, with temps falling through the day.

Light snow showers will taper Tuesday morning, but much colder air follows Monday’s system. Expect highs only in the teens Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday too… with partly to mostly cloudy skies through the period. Overnight lows will drop into the single digits, even below zero in some areas… especially if we see a couple of inches of snow accumulate on Monday. The more snow that’s on the ground, the colder the daytime highs and nighttime lows will be Tuesday through Thursday. We could see more light snow on Thursday, then partly sunny skies on Friday. Highs Friday should climb back into the 20s.
