$60,000 supports arts organizations in La Crosse area
Grant provided by La Crosse Community Foundation
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – $60,000 in grants will help a pair of arts organizations during the pandemic.
The La Crosse Community Foundation announced the grants this week.
$30,000 will support each of the Weber Center for the Performing Arts and La Crosse Community Theatre.
Both organizations were forced to close nearly all activities including fundraising.
Without people in the seats, the money will help the show go on.
“We’ve been operating off a lot of savings. A lot of capital that we have. And so this has lowered a lot of those kind of expenses that we have. And so it’s really helping us to sustain and for future planning as well,” said The Weber Center for the Performing Arts executive director Dillon Mcardle.
The La Crosse Community Foundation created the Emergency Survival Grant program in June as a second phase in responding to community needs during COVID-19.
The foundation has up to $316,000 in grants available this year.
