6 firefighters treated at Trempealeau County fire
Extreme winds spread fire in neighboring field
TREMPEALEAU COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) — Six firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation/heat exhaustion at the scene of a fire in the Town of Trempealeau on Wednesday night.

The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Department said the fire started in one wall of the residence on the property but firefighters were able to put it out. Extreme winds caused the fire to spread across West Prairie Road and started several fires in the neighboring fields.
Six firefighters were treated at the scene for smoke and heat exhaustion. No one was transported for further treatment.
The Sheriff’s Department said the property owners were not home at the time the fire was called in.
