500 tests completed at COVID-19 testing site in La Crosse

Testing held at County's Health and Human Services Building

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Another free COVID-19 testing site is providing another opportunity to get tested for the virus in La Crosse.

Cars were lined up down 6th street earlier today as community members waited for testing.

500 people were tested at the site which closed this afternoon after initially being scheduled until six this evening.

Staff at the site say there is a likely cause for the increase in people looking to get tested.

“Looking at the parking lot today, it’s full. As you know, we’ve seen a large increase in cases with in recent days, which is likely the cause of cars that we’re seeing today,” said Abbie Loos, with the La Crosse County Health Department.

If you missed Monday’s testing don’t worry.

The La Crosse County Health Department will hold testing events the next two Mondays.

Testing will continue to be free and start at 10 in the morning both days.
