38th Annual Turned Leaf Festival turns fundraiser
The festival is a chemical and alcohol-free celebration of Oktoberfest
LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT) – A local organization is still helping those who are fighting addiction have a safe alternative to what would be Oktoberfest weekend.
The annual Turned Leaf Family Festival takes place at Myrick Park and is hosted by the Coulee Recovery Center.
Because of the pandemic this year they made the festival a drive-thru fundraiser for the center as well.
The substance-free festival hosted live music as well as a brat meal continuing some traditions from previous years.
Keeping those traditions going is important, especially in such a turbulent year.
“We just wanted to do it in a very safe way, so with all the safety protocols, but also allow people to enjoy a brat when they might have done it on Oktoberfest grounds,” said Cheryl Hancock, the Executive Director of the Coulee Recovery Center.
The festival is a chemical and alcohol-free celebration of Oktoberfest.
This was the 38th year the festival took place.
