$31,000 to help community organizations responding to COVID-19

Money comes from Great Rivers United Way

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – $31,000 will help a pair of community organizations responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Great Rivers United Way is giving $17,500 to The Salvation Army.

That money will help people in Trempealeau and Buffalo Counties who are at risk of eviction and homelessness once the eviction moratorium ends.

Funding will also supplement utility payments.

Couleecap is getting $13,500.

That money will be split between helping low-wage workers that are out of work.

A food pantry in Prairie du Chien will also benefit.

Fundraising for emergency response funds is continuing on the Great Rivers United Way’s website.
