2018 football preview: Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau Red Hawks

Ben Behan led the Coulee Conference in rushing the past two seasons.

With Behan and over half of the offensive line graduated from a season ago, G-E-T is using their fall camp to fill in those important spots.

“Our running backs are solid and they are going to run. But they are going to their spot. Our overall success this year will be based on our offensive line and us not turning the ball over,” said head coach Jon Steffenhagen.

The Red Hawks plan to rotate through a large stable of running backs. Their success will depend on the players in front of them who open up the holes.

“Our line is our rock,” said senior running back Dylan Johnson. “They help us do everything on the field for offense and defense. I think if the line gets our plays down we’re going to be golden.”

G-E-T enters the 2018 season as the two-time defending conference champs and one of this year’s goals is to win the Coulee title again.

“I think it would be huge for us to go out on top but we’ve got to get there. We’ve got to get there first,” said senior lineman Cordell Kokott.
