2018 football preview: Arcadia Raiders

The season goal for the Arcadia football team is pretty simple, retake the Coulee Conference crown. Arcadia went 3-6 last season and their last league title game in 2015. G-E-T has won the last two conference championships.

The Raiders will have a new quarterback in 2018 and needs to replace their top 3 rushers from a season ago. But a talented wide receiver cast is back, so Arcadia might unleash the passing game more this year.

“We are always going to be a team that likes to run the ball first. I think we have a little more speed out at the wide receiver position this year. I think we are going to try and get the ball to those guys in space a little bit,” Arcadia head coach Derek Updike said.

“We have to get everything going. If we get our running game going, then we can definitely get our passing game going. They are going to try and stop the run, then we can throw the ball around a little bit. Have some fun,” senior quarterback Tanner Klar said.
