2015 Festmaster: Chuck Roth

Broadcast executive Chuck Roth has been named the 2015 Festmaster.

The announcement was made during the annual Festmaster’s Ball Friday night at the La Crosse Center.

Roth said he was surprised by the honor. “It’s hard to describe. I wasn’t expecting it, it wasn’t something I envisioned myself doing, I just didn’t put myself in that spot. But it’s a tremendous honor, it’s humbling, and we’re just committed to making sure that we do the absolute best job we can, to give it everything we have.”

Roth married his high school sweetheart, LuAnn Hanson, on October 17th, 1981. They currently reside in Onalaska and have 3 adult children.

Roth moved to La Crosse in 1988 to become the Vice President/General Manager of WXOW/WQOW-TV. He served in that position until 2008 when he transitioned to Director of Business Administration for Quincy Newspapers, Inc.

Roth has been involved in the community, serving with the Great Rivers United Way, Lutheran Hospital Children’s Fund, and the La Crosse Community Theater, among other things.

Roth said he and his wife look forward to serving as ambassadors of the fest. “We look at it as representing Oktoberfest, representing the La Crosse area, and being a part of a terrific community celebration, and we’re going to do the best job we can,” said Roth.
