14-year-old killed in Eau Claire shooting
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WKBT) — A 14-year-old boy was killed Wednesday in a shooting in Eau Claire, according to police.
The Eau Claire Police Department responded to a report of a gunshot wound at just before 3 p.m. Wednesday on the 2800 block of Terry Lane on the city’s north side. They found Marwan D. Washington wounded, but life-saving measures failed and he died at the scene.
Austin Vang, 26, was arrested for first-degree reckless homicide in connection with the shooting. Police say it is an isolated incident and the investigation is ongoing.
“The Eau Claire Police Department extends our condolences to the family of Marwan during this difficult time,” it said in a press release. “In conjunction with the Eau Claire Area School District, we are working to provide services and support to the family, fellow students, and staff.”
