11 men arrested in Eau Claire prostitution case
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Eau Claire police arrested 11 men at an area hotel on April 9 for the crime of pandering.
Police say the men answered Internet-based ads that offered to pay money in exchange for sexual gratification.
Law enforcement worked in cooperation with the Rodeway Inn and Suites, 1828 South Hastings Way, with this investigation.
The following men were arrested:
Ryan Sullivan, 36, of Eau Claire
Edilberto Castrejon, 46, of Oakdale, Minnesota
Marek Szczepanik, 29, of Oak Lawn, Illinois
Steven Idso, 63, of Chippewa Falls
Scott Burtness, 30, of Chippewa Falls
Tommy Klatt, 35, of Chippewa Falls
Frederick Williams, 30, of Eau Claire
Shawn Fisher, 38, of Trego
Scott Buttke, 45, of Altoona
John Seibel, 43, of Bloomer
Dennis Meinen, of Bloomer
They are scheduled to appear in court on May 7.
The arrests are part of a collaborative effort among the Eau Claire Police Department, Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin Department of Justice-Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI). Police say the Rodeway Inn and Suites is an important partner with law enforcement in this ongoing effort. More arrests may occur, as police continue their investigation into prostitution activity.
