10th annual Atomic Ice Derby held at Lake Onalaska
ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) — Lake Onalaska hosted an Ice Derby of their own Saturday. Dedicated ice fishers could start fishing for the derby as early as midnight Saturday morning.
Then weigh-in’s for fish were required to be done by 1 p.m. Afterward, tens of thousands of dollars in cash and prizes were given away at Moxie’s bar to those who competed.
The grand prize winner took home a $5,000 prize.
“It looks pretty packed in here, OK. Moxie’s did a nice job. We got fire pits, we got the heaters outside, we got inside food, we’ve got games going on. I would say it was a turnout that everybody could say is real good,” said Ice Derby organizer Scott Gartner.
This was the 10th annual Atomic Ice Derby.
