$101,500 raised for La Crosse area nonprofits during Al’s Musky Challenge

The total is about double the amount raised in 2020 and 2019 combined

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A fundraising effort netted a lot of money for local organizations.

Members of the Downtown La Crosse Rotary Club raised $101,500 during the annual “Al’s Musky Challenge.”

Al Louis fished in memory of his mentor, David Amborn, who passed away this year.

The Children’s Miracle Network, Children’s Museum of La Crosse, Coulee Recovery Center and the La Crosse Community Theatre will share the donation.

“He did so many things for this community, publicly, quietly. It was never no, it was always yet. So met as a board and made that decision and we picked four that were most important to him,” said musky hunter Al Louis.

This year’s fundraising total was about double the amount raised in 2020 and 2019 combined.
