10 Days of Giving food drive collects over 170,000 pounds of food

On December 11th, Merchants Bank picked up its first barrel for the 10 Days of Giving food drive.

The barrel was filled with 173,094 pounds of food, which will benefit the food shelf at Winona Volunteer Services.

The second day of barrel pick up will be December 12th, and volunteers are excited to see the final numbers.

“It has been a great campaign! We’re looking forward to the second day of barrel pick up and to get those final numbers totaled,” said Dawn Stenberg, 10 Days of Giving Co-Chair.

Final totals will be calculated next week.

The 10 Days of Giving food drive is an annual community c​​​​​​ollaboration between Merchants Bank and Winona Volunteer Services.​​​

They have collected more than 3.5 million pounds of food for thousands of people in Winona County since 1989.
