$1.7 Million to support La Crosse Regional Airport
$83 Million to support airports across Wisconsin
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – $1.7 million is set to support the La Crosse Regional Airport during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
The money comes from the ‘CARES Act’ signed into law late last month by President Trump.
In total, $10 billion will support airports across the U.S.
In La Crosse, the money will help cover operating costs and help the airport to land safely after the pandemic ends.
“Really it provides us here at the local level with flexibility and options of how to proceed moving into the future and hopefully to see a quick recovery,” said La Crosse Regional Airport executive director Ian Turner.
$83 million from the CARES Act will support airports across Wisconsin.
That includes airports in Eau Claire, Black River Falls, Prairie du Chien and Viroqua.
Airports in Caledonia, Rushford and Winona also received money.
