Tage was born and raised in Santa Rosa, near San Francisco. He originally planned on getting into the technology field out there, but moved to the La Crosse area in 2007. He's called it home since and worked a variety of retail jobs.
Tage started at News 8 near the end of 2011 on floor crew. Eventually, he learned to be a photographer and in April 2013 was promoted to full-time. He enjoys getting out in the community and meeting people at the various events.
Outside of work, Tage likes to watch a variety of TV shows, use and learn about new technology, spend time with his boyfriend, and play board games.
My taste changes quickly with the times. Anything Top 40 is generally in my rotation of music on my phone. As of the time writing this, I really like "Learn to Love Again" by P!nk and the guy from FUN.
Favorite movie and Favorite book?
My favorite book and movie are one in the same: "Jurassic Park." It was one of the first movies that I remember watching in the movie theatre and loved learning about all of the dinosaurs. I was also intrigued by the idea that we could clone dinosaurs and bring them back to life.
Do you have a personal motto or quote that inspires you?
"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us." -Helen Keller. People do tend to hold onto things too long and should really just look forward and move on. The next thing is just around the corner.
If you could interview one person, living or deceased, who would that be?
Walt Disney. Seeing everything he created and hearing the stories of his creativity is inspiring. I try and imagine what the world would have been like if he was able to live longer.
I love so many dishes at Noodles & Company. I wish there was one closer to us. I have been known, on a number of occasions, to drive to Rochester, Minnesota, just to satisfy my craving!
What do you like about your job?
It's great to be in touch with what's going on in the community, meet a variety of people, and be challenged to make stories that I cover come alive in new and interesting ways. Additionally, I like doing different things and in this job, that is every day.
Pizza. Sausage, pepperoni or everything on it?
This is an easy one for me. It is one of the things that I miss most about California. There was a pizza place called Round Table Pizza, which served what was called an "Italian Garlic Supreme." It was a supreme pizza with a garlic ranch sauce in place of the marinara and a great crust.
I have two older brothers, which makes me the baby of the family. My oldest brother is in the Air Force and is stationed overseas with his wife and two kids. My mom made the move with me from California and also lives in La Crosse.
