Martha is originally from Brown Deer, Wisconsin. She earned her B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) in 2007, and then got her M.A. in Media Studies from UWM in 2009.
Martha began her broadcast journalism career in La Crosse as a bureau reporter/videographer in the fall of 2009. In October 2011, Martha became the 5 p.m. news producer for a TV station in Madison. She joined News 8 as the Internet Content Coordinator in October 2012.
Martha is the manager of News8000.com, News 8's social media accounts, and the News8000 mobile app. In October 2013, Martha helped design TheCompassionProject.me, a community resource website on bullying and how we can be a more compassionate community. She also manages that website for News 8.
In October 2014, Martha's job title changed to better reflect her job duties. She's now News 8's Digital Content Manager.

What do you like about your job?
I love being able to tell stories. Whether they’re told on-air or online, a well-told story is a beautiful thing.
Favorite way to spend a day off?
I like to play sports, watch movies and travel to new places.
Do you have a hobby or collect anything special to you?
I collect magnets to cities I’ve been fortunate enough to explore. Some of my traveling abroad highlights include a trip to London, Paris and Rome. I’ve also had the opportunity to travel to Australia and New Zealand.
