As "Gone Girl" opens in theaters, take a look at some movies that could get some Oscar buzz this awards season:

Boyhood: Shot over the course of more than a decade, this film chronicles the life of a boy, Mason, from ages 5 to 18. Starring Ellar Coltrane, Patricia Arquette and Ethan Hawke.

Foxcatcher: Based on a true story, "Foxcatcher" details the relationship between Olympic wrestler Mark Schultz and his sponsor, John Du Pont, and how Du Pont's influence on Schultz impacts the wrestler's life in an unforeseen way. Starring Steve Carell, Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo.

Inherent Vice: A drug-fueled detective looks into the disappearance of a former girlfriend in Los Angeles in 1970. Starring Joaquin Phoenix and Jena Malone.

Into the Woods: A witch tries to teach lessons to characters from the children’s stories Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel. Starring Johnny Depp, Emily Blunt and Anna Kendrick.

The Imitation Game: An English mathematician cracks the Enigma code during World War II. Starring Keira Knightley, Benedict Cumberbatch and Mark Strong.

Gone Girl: A husband is a suspect after his wife mysteriously disappears on their wedding anniversary. Starring Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike and Neil Patrick Harris.

The Grand Budapest Hotel: A legendary concierge at a European hotel and the lobby boy get into adventures between World War I and World War II. Starring Ralph Fiennes, F. Murray Abraham, Adrien Brody, Jude Law and Bill Murray.

Unbroken: Angelina Jolie directs this film that tells the story of Louis Zamperini, an Olympic runner who was taken prisoner by the Japanese during World War II. Starring: Jack O’Connell and Domhnall Gleeson.

The Judge: A lawyer returns home for his mother’s funeral when he discovers his father, a judge, is being accused of murder. Starring Robert Downey Jr. and Vera Farmiga.

Interstellar: Directed by Christopher Nolan, explorers use a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel. Starring: Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain.

Fury: An army sergeant commands a tank and a five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines to attack Nazi Germany. Starring: Brad Pitt, Logan Lerman and Shia LaBeouf.

Exodus: Moses leads the Israelites out of Egypt.  Directed by Ridley Scott. Starring Christian Bale and Sigourney Weaver.

The Hobbit: There and Back Again: In its final installment of the trilogy, Bilbo and the dwarves try to reclaim the treasure. Starring Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ian McKellan and Orlando Bloom.
