MADISON, Wis. - 15 practices.
That's all the Badgers football team gets in the Spring. The 15th and final practice is Saturday afternoon.
There are tons of questions facing the team, although the biggest, once again, is under center. Joel Stave is out for the game, as he is still rehabbing from a nagging shoulder injury. That means there will be more eyes on Tanner McEvoy, Bart Houston and newcomer DJ Gillins.
Even though it is only a scrimmage, Gary Andersen and his staff have specific things they will be looking for.
"We need to compete and we need to play football. So I want to see a productive offense, a productive defense and like I always say, during practice or in games, you gotta earn your way and that needs to happen," Andersen said.
"We've gotta be able to execute and look like a big time division one football team. Staying healthy is a big part of that, but we're all gonna play and I'm looking for a team [that] can walk off the field and say they're moving in the right direction."
The Wisconsin Spring Football Game kicks off at 3:15.
