MADISON, Wis. - After seeing the Onalaska co-op girls battle back from a 3-0 deficit earlier in the day, the Onalaska boys do the exact same thing in their WIAA state semifinal game.
Luke Tepp, who scored the game-wining goal in the state quarterfinal game, evened the score at 3-3 with under four minutes to play versus University School of Milwaukee.
Then with just 13-seconds left in regulation, Bennett Hutson sent Onalaska to the program's first ever state title game.
Hayden Brown gave University School a 3-0 lead 5:07 into the second period.
Hilltoppers captain Ian Earp with 6:45 remaining in the second scored the first goal of the game for Onalaska.
A power-play Austin Lubinsky goal 0:40 into the third period pulled the Hilltoppers within one.
Onalaska will face Verona in the 2014 WIAA state championship game on Saturday. That contest will begin following the Onalaska co-op girls state title game against Green Bay East co-op which begins at noon.
