Ona grad Nick Arenz transfers to Winona State

ONALASKA, Wis. - Onalaska grad ('12) Nick Arenz is transferring from UW-Green Bay to Winona State, Arenz's mom tells News 8.

According to Kim Arenz, her son wanted to play Div. II. He received considerable interest, and considered Minnesota State-Mankato and Lindenwood, among others. When his flight to St. Louis was delayed by tornadoes, it became clear coming home was the way to go.

"I couldn't be more pleased," she said.

Nick Arenz played in 16 games as a freshman at UW-Green Bay. He won the 2012 State Title with the Hilltoppers.

Arenz will join two other local players at Winona State, both freshmen: Riley Bambanek (G-E-T) and Mark Blacklock (Winona Senior).
