Logan introduces new girls basketball coach

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) - Logan introduced its new girls basketball coach Tuesday afternoon, Scott Grade.

Grade replaces Jason Bahr, who led the Rangers for the last three seasons. Grade was an assistant under Bahr for all three years. In fact, the two coaches go way back; they knew each other growing up.

"I was a little too worried about my age, apprehensive about being a little too old, not having enough energy but I guess I'm kind of excited," Grade said. "This is going to be fun to maybe do some new things and see what we can do with the girls."

Bahr said he is stepping down to spend more time with his family. He led the Rangers to a 51-24 record in three seasons, including a trip to the sectional finals two seasons ago.

"They say the kids only grow up once," Bahr said.

"We have a lot of mutual friends and our families are really close, so one of the reasons I felt comfortable stepping down is because I knew he would probably take it over."

Grade grew up in a basketball household. His dad was head coach at Onalaska. Out of college, Grade spent six seasons as head coach in New Richland, Minnesota.

"Mr. Bahr did an excellent job and I hope to continue with that," Grade said.

"The future looks bright for the program and I'm sure coach Grade is going to do a great job," Bahr said.
