The Olympian sits down with News 8 to talk about his Sochi experience

Interview with Olympian Matt Antoine

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) - With a homecoming celebration planned for this weekend, Matt Antoine is back in Wisconsin. The skeleton Olympic bronze medalist made a visit to News 8 to talk about his terrific season that just came to an end.

"I don't know if it fully set in. I think it's going to take a little bit more time. But at the same time it's something I have been preparing myself for," said Antoine.

The 28-year old picked a great time to put together his best season, peaking on a year that there were Winter Olympic Games to be played.

"It's just taking all of your experiences over the years, finding out what's worked and what hasn't. I definitely had setbacks over the last four years. A lot of things that I had to come back from or work on. And it's just kind of taking all of those disappointments and continuing to grow from them."

Prairie du Chien is hosting a homecoming for Matt Antoine on Friday, March 14. The event will be held at the Dousman House from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Antoine will also take part in Prairie du Chien's St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 15. That event begins at 10:00 a.m. and the parade route runs through Prairie du Chien's downtown.
