LOGAN 35, MOUNT HOREB/BARNEVELD 20

Aric Elmore saw to it that Mount Horeb/Barneveld's lead would not last long. After falling behind 7-0, Elmore scored three first half touchdowns: a 24-yard run off a reverse, a 49-yard touchdown run, and a 60-yard interception return for a score.

"This is what we expected," Elmore said. "This is what we've been going for since the beginning of the season: to make history."

Logan advances to the state semifinals for the first time in school history.

"It's amazing," senior Calvin Wright said. "We're making history at Logan High School. To know that we're the first team to make it to the semifinals is the best."

Wright ran for 39 yards and a touchdown, while senior Raekwon Tillman ran for 156 yards on 19 carries.

"We call ourselves lightning and thunder. I'm the thunder, he's the lightning. He's quick, I'm powerful. You put those together, you're unstoppable," Wright said

Logan faces Monona Grove in Level Four next week.
