The Alumni Cup will remain on the campus of UW-La Crosse for a 10th straight season.
Behind 15 points and nine rebounds from Calahan Skogman, the Eagles beat their city rival 68-59.
"It was a hard fought win for us, we battled hard, they battled hard," said UW-L Head Coach Ken Koelbl. "Fortunately we were able to clamp down a little bit defensively, especially down the stretch"
Viterbo's Matt Turba, who finished with a team-high 14 points, hit a late jumper to put the V-Hawks up 56-50. However, UW-L's Braden Tice hit a three to tie the game at 58. UW-L pulled away from there.
"It was a blast," Tice said. "Every year, it's a big game against Viterbo. They always play their hearts out."
Onalaska grad Clint Rihn scored 12 points, going 4-for-4 from beyond the arc.
The Eagles improve to 4-1 on the season, while Viterbo falls to 5-3.
UW-L now leads the all-time series 16-10.
