2013 first round draft pick Datone Jones is not shy about sharing his career goal.
"I want to be the best to ever do it," the defensive end said. "That's my personal ultimate goal, my long term goal. I want to be the best to ever do it."
Jones understands the urgency in making an immediate impact after being selected with the 26th overall pick back in April.
"They drafted me in the first round for a reason," Jones said.
Another addition to Green Bay's defense is outside linebacker Nick Perry. The first round pick in 2012, he returns after a wrist injury in Week Six cut short his rookie season.
"I want to look past that," Perry said. "I'm more geared to the future now and looking forward to a great season this year."
The duo of Perry and Jones makes Green Bay's front seven a bit more athletic compared to the Packers unit that faced the 49'ers six months ago and yielded 45 points on 579 yards.
"Looking forward to doing a better job," Perry said. "We're going to be tough. We're going to compete to be the best when we get on the field. It's going to come and we're going to show up."
