Tony Oliva, Twins Caravan stop in Winona

WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) - The Minnesota Twins Winter Caravan, and one of its fixtures, made a stop in Winona Wednesday.

Tony Oliva, an eight-time all-star and three-time American League batting champion, joined pitchers Kyle Gibson and Caleb Thielbar at the Cathedral of Sacred Heart.

Oliva is not new to the Caravan. In fact, in over 50 years, he's hardly ever missed one.

"I love it," he said. "I am living my dream. Every year I come and see a lot of new people, I see a lot of the old people that saw me play baseball fifty years ago. They bring me little cards sometimes, or little pictures 'That's me with my son, or me here with now my grandson' or something like that. That was great to hear that."

Oliva, Gibson and Thielbar stopped in St. Charles, Minn. and Preston, Minn. before their appearance in Winona.
