LA CROSSE, Wis. -

College still feels a bit like high school for Isaac and Maya Vazquez.

"It's kind of weird because it does feel like State, but at the next level," Isaac said.

Isaac and Maya Vazquez both had standout track and field careers at Arcadia. Isaac, now a senior, went to UW-L. Maya began her college career at Wisconsin, but only stayed there for a little over a year.

"I didn't want to regret not trying it," she said. "I loved doing track there and I loved how I learned about myself, but I didn't love it enough to make it my life, and I got injured my last season there and that helped seal the deal."

"I was happy," Isaac said. "Because then I knew she'd be closer."

Isaac will graduate in December, but this is his last season of eligibility. So it's the first and only season the two siblings will compete along side each other in college.

"I didn't even realize that! ! I guess I should enjoy it more, or think about it," Maya said.

UW-La Crosse is hosting the NCAA Div. 3 Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 23-25. That meet will be the last one in which Maya and Isaac share the same track. Safe to say, they'll be rooting for each other.

"I'd be happy for her," Isaac said. "It'd be kind of like state in high school. That's kind of what it is."
