Packers brass at NFL Combine

Not long after the NFL season ends, executives turn the page to the next season. Scouts from around the NFL are in Indianapolis for the NFL combine.

College players get tested, questioned and measured to see whether they can make it at the next level.

One position the Packers may not have to pay too much attention to is the offensive line.

"This is the best group of offensive lineman from a depth standpoint that we've had in my time in Green Bay so there's a lot of good things to build off of," Head Coach Mike McCarthy said.

"There's too many unknowns for us to get really specific about it," said General Manager Ted Thompson. "Quite frankly, if we were going to be exactly specific, it wouldn't be good for the organization. There's proprietary information involved."

Good news on Jermichael Finley

Mike McCarthy told the Green Bay Press Gazette that he's optimistic tight end Jermichael Finley will play next season.

Last season, Finley had surgery on his neck after taking a nasty hit. He is a free agent, but McCarthy said assuming he clears a physical, the Packers will try to re-sign him.
