Prairie du Chien native Matt Antoine is just about
15 hours away from realizing his dream of competing
in the Olympics.
Almost eight-years ago to the date...we introduced
you to Matt as an aspiring Olympic hopeful.

archive vault and replay that story.
MATT'S SPORTS CAREER AT PRAIRIE DU CHIEN HIGH SCHOOL

WINTER SPORT OF SKELETON RACING.

THAT NEXT SUMMER...MATT CONVINCED HIS MOTHER TO TAKE
A VACATION TO LAKE PLACID...WHERE THEY WERE HOLDING
TRYOUTS FOR SLIDING SCHOOL.
MATT IMPRESSED THE COACHES....AND HE BEGAN TRAINING.
EXACTLY FOUR YEARS NOW FROM WATCHING THE SPORT ON
T-V....HE'S MADE HIS WAY UP TO THE U-S-A NATIONAL

quite a bit actually, my coaches have said i've had
a quick progression through the sport.
MATT IS CURRENTLY A
JUNIOR AT PLATTSBURGH STATE UNIVERSITY....WHICH
PUTS HIM CLOSE TO THE LAKE PLACID TRAINING CENTER
IN NEW YORK.
mary he's really dedicated, practices whenever he
can, in fact don't see him home much here in wisconsin

HOPES BODES WELL FOR HIS FUTURE GOALS.
matt being young gives me a lot of time to progress
in this sport and i have a lot of time to work my
way up to where i want to be
