Before the Loggers departed for a seven game road trip, the team released four players for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
Catcher Max McDowell and pitchers Collin Lee and Craig Caufield were let go.
"It's one of those things where some kids made some very bad decisions," Loggers manager Jason Nell said. "I'm not saying they're bad kids whatsoever, but they made poor decisions. They know the repercussions. They put themselves in that situation."
The Loggers then lost their next four games, however Nell said he still believes his team can be successful in their absence.
"I have a tremendous amount of confidence," he said. "We won 39 games for a reason and we've got four all-stars, so let's move on and do the best we possibly can."
