Highlight Zone Countdown: Winona Winhawks

RB Clark steps in behind experienced offensive line

O-Line Could Lead to Wins

WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) - Winona, who returns few starters this season, will miss one player in particular: talented running back Vincent Pham.

But Matt Clark, who shared the backfield with Pham last year, steps in.

"I have something to live up to, that's for sure," Clark said. "But it was nice learning from him and watching him."

Clark will run behind an experienced offensive line. Four guys return who saw the field, including two juniors who started as sophomores.

"When you're looking at it, there's four guys there that have been out there on a Friday night playing, so they kind of know what to expect," said Winona Head Coach John Cassellius. "It's not very often that you can say, geez, four of our guys that played on the O-line actually have some true, quality varsity playing experience."

"It's really nice to know that I have guys I can trust and be by my side and I know that they'll get the job done," senior lineman Foster Zittel said.

"I'm excited to see what they can do. It's a great feeling, having them up there, and this year more than ever," said Clark.
