GREEN BAY, Wis. (WKBT) -

Green Bay Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy said the team was "blessed to get help" from the Philadelphia Eagles to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Eagles beat the Chicago Bears 54-11 in Philadelphia Sunday night. With a win this coming Sunday, the Packers will clinch the NFC North and make the playoffs.

McCarthy said the decision whether quarterback Aaron Rodgers will start on Sunday will come early this week.

“He’s very frustrated he’s not playing,” McCarthy said.

McCarthy didn’t have many details on linebacker Clay Matthews’ thumb injury. “The training staff didn’t feel very good about the injury,” McCarthy said, adding that his injury evaluation is still going on.

Running back Eddie Lacy hurt his ankle late in the game. “He’s sore. Has been pretty much the whole season,” McCarthy said. The team won’t practice on the field until Thursday, so McCarthy is hoping that will help him with recovery time.

McCarthy said although Sunday night’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers was tough, the team is excited about the opportunity to play Sunday. “We are playing for a championship.”

The Packers play the Bears Sunday at 3:25 p.m. at Soldier Field.
