Prairie du Chien native, Matt Antoine, is representing
the U-S in skeleton, at the Sochi Olympics this winter.
And today on his final run, he makes everyone back

Matt Antoine is a bronze medalist.

But Antoine today with two flawless runs.
He finishes 3-rd .
so in his 1-st Olympics .
he wins his 1-st Olympic medal.

Matt's enjoying a national audience today in Sochi,
but some of his biggest fans are cheering more than
five-thousand miles away, right here in the Coulee

in Matt's hometown of Prairie du Chien.
It was quite a site to see as the local fans watched

It's been an emotional rollercoaster for one high-school
friend in particular, who has been cheering him on
since the beginning.

It's the moment many have been waiting for.....
As Prairie Du Chien native Matt Antoine takes his
final run on the Olympic stage...
Bridget Nichols watches closely....as her long-time
friend reaches speeds of 80 miles an hour.
Every time a score would pop up, did he do it, did
he do it?
As she looks on in anticipation, she can't help but
be proud of how far he has come.
He didn't really get into skeleton until maybe our
junior and senior year.
He watched the olympics in 2002 and saw the skeleton
and got into it.
He decided it was something he wanted to try out and
