LA CROSSE, Wis. -

The Loggers Dogs and party deck are back, as La Crosse beat Wisconsin Rapids 10-3 in the team's home opener at Copeland Park.

"It was good," new manager Jason Nell said. "It's opening day, so you have to take care of your fans and we have the best fans in the league. So it's kind of chaotic, so hopefully we get back in the routine of things. But I tell you one thing, it's great to be home."

The Loggers jumped out to a 10-0 lead en route to the win. Central grad Bobby Juan hit a solo home run.

"Always feels good to come back home in front of these fans like this, and it's good to get the first win," Juan said.

La Crosse starter Collin Monsour, a sophomore at Cal, allowed two hits and struck out four in 6 1/3 innings of work.

"It's great," Monsour said. "Awesome fans, awesome environment, awesome guys on the team. It was a fun first outing."

The Loggers return to the field Monday evening, as they host Wisconsin Rapids at 7 p.m.
