Four players will represent La Crosse at the Northwoods League All Star game.
Infielder Kevin Zak is third on the Loggers in RBI. Outfielder Johnny Bekakis has five homeruns and 35 RBI. His Long Beach State teammate, pitcher Josh Frye, has 57 strikeouts in 54 innings pitched. Finally, righty Collin Monsour has a 3.49 ERA in nine starts.
Manager Jason Nell says there's one thing they all have in common.
"Character. They're good baseball players, I mean that's obvious by their talent and what they've done so far but they're good character kids. I told them, like I said the other day, I said good things happen with good people and to those who work hard and they do. And they're good kids. They come from good programs, I think one of the biggest qualities that they have is they want to be coached."
The All-Star game is Tuesday at Carson Park in Eau Claire.
