Loggers' loss moves them one game back

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. - In the past three days, three different teams have held at least a share of the lead for the Northwoods League South Division.

Another day, another lead change.

The Loggers allowed the first eight runs of the game at Wisconsin Rapids, falling 8-6. They scored three runs in the 7th and two runs in the 8th, but could not complete the comeback.

Lakeshore (19-12) lost 3-1 to Green Bay and Madison (19-11) won 10-2 at Battle Creek. That means the Loggers now trail Madison by one game in the Northwoods League South Division.

There are three games remaining in the first half. La Crosse has one more game at Wisconsin Rapids on Monday, then hosts Madison on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the Lumberyard.
