The hopeful Milwaukee Brewers are looking for a healthy start to the 2014 season.
Injuries plagued them during last year's 74-88 campaign. Slugger Ryan Braun was sidelined by a thumb injury and drug suspension, while third baseman Aramis Ramirez missed time with a knee injury.
They were two of the biggest names on a long medical list.
Manager Ron Roenicke hopes the right training and conditioning can help the Brewers limit nagging injuries to hamstrings or obliques. He's also hoping that last year's tough season was an exception.
Roenicke likes the youth of the team. No big worries about having to rest older players.
Braun is still only 30, for instance, while Gold Glove outfielder Carlos Gomez is 28 and shortstop Jean Segura turns 24 next month.
