Jeren Kendall was selected 23rd overall in the first round of the MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Kendall just finished his junior season at Vanderbilt after a standout high school career with the Holmen Vikings.
Kendall was also drafted in the 30th round in the 2014 Draft by the Boston Red Sox but decided not to sign and instead attend college.
During his days at Holmen he helped the Vikings claim three straight Mississippi Valley Conference championships. Kendall was named the Wisconsin Player of the Year in 2013 and 2014 and earned Wisconsin Gatorade Player of the Year honors in 2014.
Kendall finished his junior season at Vanderbilt with a .307 batting average, 53 RBI and a team high 15 home runs. He broke onto the national stage with the Commodores after hitting a walk-off home run to beat Cal State Fullerton in the 2015 College World Series.
