More than 400 high schoolers will try to prove they're king of the hill this weekend.
The annual High School Alpine Ski and Snowboard Championships is at Mount La Crosse on February 15-17.
An estimated 1,000 people will be on hand to watch the event Mt. La Crosse has hosted for about 20 years now. Officials say the cold has been a big benefit for getting the hill ready.
"One thing that cold temperatures have helped us with is preserving that snow base that we have on the hill, so the slopes, the race venues are in great condition for the racers,” said Mt. La Crosse General manager Darcie Breidel.
The hill plans to have the Olympics on TV as well, so people can watch the world's best ski and snowboard.
