On Tuesday evening Carlos Gomez became the fifth ever player in Brewers history to win a Gold Glove.
Gomez edged past National League center fielders Andrew McCutchen of Pittsburgh and Washington's Denard Span for the prestigious award.
In 2013 Gomez made five home run-saving catches along with a career-high 12 assists.
Gomez won the 10th Gold Glove in Brewers franchise history, the first since Robin Yount (shortstop) did it in 1982. Along with Yount, Gomez joins George Scott (first base: 1972-76), Cecil Cooper (first base: 1979-80), and Sixto Lezcano (outfield: 1979).
The Brewers had gone 30 seasons without a Gold Glove winner, which was the longest streak in the 57-year history of the award.
