UW-La Crosse wrapped up their regular season with a 63-55 win over UW-Stout Wednesday night at Mitchell Hall. The win gives the Eagles the No. 3 seed in the upcoming WIAC Men's Basketball Tournament.
UW-L will host an opponent yet to be determined on Wednesday, February 26 in the opening round.
Calahan Skogman led the Eagles with 18 points. Braden Tice added 11 and Luke Tweed had 10.
"The keys were mainly defensive for us," said Tice after the day. "We really picked it up, picked up the pressure and got a lot of turnovers. It really helped us that we really got stops. And we scored enough down the stretch so that we would win."
The Eagles trailed 35-21 before going on a 21-0 run that stretched from the final two minutes of the first half to the 13:35 mark in the second half.
La Crosse Aquinas graduate Jimmy Whitehead was UW-Stout's leading scorer with 16 points, 11 coming in the first half.
