GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -

Cornerback Sam Shields and outside linebacker Mike Neal have left Sunday's wild-card game for the Packers against the San Francisco 49ers with knee injuries, and their returns were questionable.

Shields left on the second play of the 49ers first possession after hurting his left knee. He was helped to the sideline before being carted off the field.

Neal appeared to hurt his right knee a few plays later. He was one of the players helping to fill the void left by the absence of Clay Matthews, who is out indefinitely with a right thumb injury.
