Back for a second season is former Aquinas head coach
He'll sit down every Thursday at 6 p-m to look at
the week that was along with what is in store for
this coming Friday in the world of High School football.
Week one is in the books.
Coach Coughlin, any one or two things that stood out
Obviously Aric Elmore is a real threat, he's going
to be difficlt to contain.
The Coulee has some very impressive victories.
But it is week one.
You have the jitters.
Maybe you will layout what your future is going to
be, maybe you'll say what you thought was going to
be your future you're going to have to scrap that
- that's happened to me - and move on to something
So week one is what it is and especially with this
new practice schedule and the amount of contact days
and things like that they've had it may have even
less meaning than it normally does.
These week two games will be more important.
You say you can't take a lot out of week one.
The Coulee conference in week one went 5-1, they outscored
their opponents combined 173-79 so is that a sign
the Coulee could be a tough conference?
They could be.
It was very impressive, especially Arcadia.
Everybody knew Arcadia had a lot of people coming
back, they scored a ton of points.
At the very least you'd like to get off in week one
on a good start and then build from there.
That's primary goal in week one.
And week two mainly a nonconference week.
What are the goals when you went into those first
couple of games knowing that conference begins in
If you can pick your nonconference foes, the first
one if you could have an easy one would be ok.
Somewhere in there you want a difficult team to match
youself up against just to see where you really were
and where your team is going for the rest of the season.
Coach joining us every Thursday this year again thanks
