Badgers' Bronson Koenig surprised by Bo Ryan
Basketball season is here.
Wisconsin opens regular season play next Friday, Nov. 8 against St. John's in South Dakota. The team has an exhibition game this Wednesday at the Kohl Center against UW-Platteville.
For Aquinas grad and freshman guard Bronson Koenig, it will be the first "game" he plays under Bo Ryan.
"[Ryan] actually hasn't been as tough as I expected him to be on me, but the season hasn't really started yet so I guess we'll see," Koenig said.
Koenig hardly turned the ball over in high school. Now, he's working to make sure that doesn't happen at the next level.
"[Ryan] doesn't really like turnovers, so I try to take care of the ball as best as I can, especially as a freshman. I don't really have the green light as some players do, but I just try to do my best to take care of the ball and just be solid and the most efficient player I can be."
Koenig had five points and three assists in Saturday's Red/White Scrimmage.
