Lehigh stunned Duke on Friday but couldn't hold up against a strong Xavier team Sunday night.

Senior center Kenny Frease turned in a career-best effort as Xavier advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in five years, topping Lehigh in third-round action in Greensboro, N.C.

The 10th-seeded Musketeers (23-12) will take on No. 3 seed Baylor in a South Regional semifinal Friday in Atlanta.

Down by as many as 15 in the first half, Xavier opened the second half with a 14-3 run. Another 10-2 burst down the stretch broke the game's final tie and put the Musketeers up for good, 60-52, at the 3:01 mark.

Frease gave the 15th-seeded Mountain Hawks (27-8) fits throughout, finishing with 25 points on 11-of-13 shooting and grabbing 12 rebounds. Xavier clamped down defensively after the break, holding Lehigh under 15 percent shooting (five-of-34) in the second half.

Tu Holloway added 21 points for the Musketeers. Mackey McKnight finished with 20 points to pace Lehigh in defeat.
