Scott holds 4-stroke lead at British Open
Tiger Woods 5 shots back
Australian Adam Scott took the lead at the British Open Saturday, shooting a 2-under 68 to go 11 under through three rounds and position himself to win his first major title.
Behind him and hoping to make a final-round charge are Brant Snedeker and Graeme McDowell. tied for second at 7 under and Tiger Woods in fourth at 6 under. Woods shot an even-par 70 on Saturday at Royal Lytham & St. Annes, which Friday's leader Snedeker collapsed, shooting 5 over par on the day.
Ernie Els and Zach Johnson are tied for fifth at 5 under, Thorbjorn Oleson is alone in seventh at 4 under and Thomas Aiken and Bill Haas are tied for eighth at 3 under. Johnson had the best day, going 4 under on Saturday to move up the leaderboard.
There are four golfers tied for tenth including Masters champion Bubba Watson and four for fourteenth.
Only 17 players under par through three rounds of the tournament.
Winds were light on Saturday with stronger gusts predicted for Sunday, although forecasts have been off the mark all week.
