HOUSTON, Minn. -

Onalaska's Matt Thomas placed fourth in a national 3-point shooting contest that featured some of the top high school recruits in the country. The event aired Saturday on WKBT.

"It was pretty cool. The next day it aired, on Saturday, and everyone's texting me, I'm watching Matt on TV! So I mean, it was pretty cool and a great experience for me," Thomas said before hitting the links in Houston, Minn.

Thomas scored 23 points in round one, second most in that round. However, he scored 15 points in the second round.

"The first round went well. The second round, I don't know what happened but I couldn't really get into a rhythm. But it was a good experience. It was fun."

Thomas will play college basketball at Iowa State.
