Hunter Mahan shot a 1-under-par 71 Sunday to win the Houston Open by one stroke.

Mahan finished at 16-under 272 to edge Carl Pettersson and become the first multiple winner on the PGA Tour this year.

It was the fifth career tour victory for Mahan, who also won the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship last month.

Trailing third-round leader Louis Oosthuizen by two shots, Mahan had two birdies before his only slip-up - a bogey at the 14th hole.

He parred the final four holes to head into next week's Masters on a roll. Mahan had only two bogeys in the tournament.

Pettersson also carded a 71 to finish alone in second place, one shot ahead of Oosthuizen, who had a pair of double bogeys on the front nine and soared to a 75.

Phil Mickelson closed with a 71 to finished in a four-way tie for fourth place at 12-under. Keegan Bradley (71) also was at 12-under.
