LA CROSSE, Wis. - After beating Green Bay 6-3 Sunday night, the Loggers are now just one win away from clinching the South Division title. The winner of the first half of the Northwoods League season earns an automatic berth to the postseason.

"We kind of understood where we were," said Loggers outfielder Joe Meggs. "We just got off to a good start, and that helped everybody out."

La Crosse scored two runs in the first, second, and third innings, as Richard Prigatano went 2-3 with an RBI. Alex Gunn pitched seven innings, allowing two runs and striking out three.

With three games remaining in the first half, the Loggers hold a three game lead in the South Division over Green Bay. They can clinch the first half title tomorrow, as they face the Bullfrogs at 7:05.
